The Disciple's Path DEVO - Day 19

Day 19: Called to Serve Together

Read Romans 16:6-7
In this passage, Paul acknowledges both men and women as significant partners in ministry. He names people like Mary, Andronicus, and Junia, honoring their dedication and hard work. In doing so, Paul affirms that God’s call to serve is given to both women and men. The ministry of the early church thrived because each person recognized their role and responded to God’s call, regardless of social norms or expectations.

In the same way, God calls each of us to serve according to the gifts He’s given us, and those gifts aren’t limited by gender or background. When we honor each other’s calling and work side by side in God’s kingdom, we reflect the diversity and unity that God intended for His church. Ministry is for everyone willing to say “yes” to God’s call, and it takes all of us working together to build His kingdom.

Reflect:
Are there ways you can affirm and support the callings of others, especially those whose gifts might be overlooked or undervalued?

Pray:
Father, thank You for calling both women and men into Your service. Help me to value the gifts of others and work alongside them for Your glory. Amen.
