"Journey in the Promise: To Be A Blessing"

Scripture: Genesis 12:1-9

The story of Abraham and Sarai is of a journey, an unknown journey of faith. God told them to go into an unknown land, and they gathered everything and went.

Imagine going on a journey and you don't know the location but walk out in faith just because God said so. Life is full of unknowns. There are twists and turns throughout our lives which are unexpected. We can liken Abraham and Sara's journey to our own lives and to our church as God leads us into unknown places that take courage, obedience, faith, and trust. 

God has a plan, a promise, a destination to bless his children. God's promise of a land Canaan, (a place of milk and honey, promised land,) was given to Abraham with a promise of blessing that they would be blessed and be a blessing. As we journey will we be willing to walk into the places we do not know?

As we journey to those places God goes before us, the dark places, the places of celebration, the places of uncertainty, the places of desperation, the places of hope.

What are you experiencing today that you need to step out in faith, trust God, believe for the future as God leads? Sometimes our greatest blessings come through raindrops and tears, but God's promises stand firm. Will we?
