Dumpster Fire DEVO - Day 13

Day 13: Trusting in God’s Purpose

Read: Jeremiah 29:10-11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. God’s purpose for the exiles wasn’t immediate deliverance. It was a long process—seventy years in exile—before they would return home. But even in the long wait, God promised hope, future, and prosperity. He was doing something bigger than they could see.

In our own lives, we often want quick answers and immediate relief, but God’s purpose is always greater. Sometimes, we don’t get what we want right away because God is working on a much larger picture, one that requires patience and trust in His timing. God’s purpose for us is “to be like God in true righteousness and holiness,” as Paul says in Eph 4:24. God is doing something in you that’s much bigger than your circumstances.

REFLECT
How does knowing that God’s plans for you are bigger than your current circumstances affect your outlook on life’s challenges?

PRAY

Lord, help me trust Your timing and Your bigger plan for my life. Even when I can’t see it, I know You are working for my good. Amen.
