Day 24: The Joy of Giving

Read 2 Corinthians 8:9
Giving uniquely connects us to God because God is a giver! We see this most clearly in Jesus. The apostle Paul writes, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you through his poverty might become rich." Jesus’ sacrificial giving is our ultimate example of generosity. He gave up heaven for the comparable poverty of being human - and dying - so we can have the “riches” of heaven.

When we give, we reflect God’s heart. Giving connects us to God and others in a unique way. It brings joy and fulfillment that material possessions can’t provide. It’s not just about meeting needs. It’s also about experiencing the joy that comes from reflecting God’s generosity.
