Day 22: The Foolishness of Self-Reliance
Read Luke 12:16-21
Jesus tells the parable of a rich man who plans to store up his wealth and live a life of ease. However, God calls him a fool, saying, "This very night your life will be demanded from you." The man’s self-reliance and focus on material wealth blinded him to what truly matters.
Our society often promotes self-reliance and the pursuit of wealth. Yet, Jesus warns us that life is not about accumulating possessions but being "rich toward God." True wealth is found in our relationship with Him and in how we use our resources to bless others.
REFLECT
How do you measure success in your life? Are you focused on material wealth or being rich toward God?
PRAY
Father, help me to seek true riches by focusing on You and using my resources to bless others. Amen.
