On the Road Again - DAY 21

Day 21: The Danger of Greed

Read Luke 12:13-15
In Luke 12, a man asks Jesus to mediate an inheritance dispute. Jesus uses this opportunity to warn against greed, saying, "Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions." Jesus challenges the assumption that more stuff equals more life.
Greed is a sneaky sin. It’s easy to think it’s someone else’s problem, especially those with more money. But Jesus reminds us that greed can affect anyone, regardless of their wealth. Our culture often feeds this greed, making us believe that happiness comes from having more.

REFLECT: Do you struggle with wanting more? How can you guard your heart against greed and find contentment in what you have?

PRAY: Lord, help me to guard my heart against greed. Teach me to find contentment in You rather than in possessions. Amen.
