On the Road Again - DAY 56

Day 56: Desperate Prayers

Read: Luke 18:1-8
Jesus shares a parable about a persistent widow who refuses to give up. She faces an unjust judge who doesn’t care about her plight, yet she continues to pound on his door, demanding justice. Eventually, the judge gives in, not out of righteousness, but simply to stop her from bothering him. Jesus uses this story to encourage us to pray boldly and persistently, not because God is reluctant, but because He is merciful and eager to answer.

Sometimes, we pray with hesitancy, unsure if God is listening or if our prayers are worth His time. But Jesus invites us to approach God with the boldness of the widow, trusting in His mercy. God is not like the unjust judge; He cares deeply for us and desires to act on our behalf. Our prayers should reflect that trust, even in desperate situations.

REFLECT:
Are you bold in your prayers? How can you develop a deeper trust in God’s mercy as you pray?

PRAY:
Lord, teach me to pray with boldness, trusting in Your mercy and love. Help me to persist in prayer, knowing that You are always listening. Amen.
