An Uninvited Guest: Jesus Anointed by a Sinful Woman

John 7:36-50

To the surprise of a Pharisee who invites Jesus to his home for dinner, an uninvited guest shows up with an alabaster jar to anoint Jesus’ feet crying and wiping his feet with her tears. The Pharisee is appalled at her action and that she was even there. Her gratitude for Jesus’ love, mercy and forgiveness poured out of her. There are many questions to ponder. The power of forgiveness brings praise, and powerful worship given. God’s grace is overwhelming. With much forgiveness comes much worship and devotion. Where do we stand?

We will take a look at this extravagant act offered by this unexpected guest. What can we learn from her act of extravagant worship and devotion?
