Jesus calls a tax collector to be his follower. Levi accepts the call. Tax collectors were despised. With his
encounter with Jesus, his life was changed forever. So Levi wants to celebrate and holds a great banquet.
To the protest of the religious leaders and teachers of the law who complained to Jesus, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” What is Jesus’ response, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. 32 I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
