The Joy of Angels and Shepherds
Advent 3- Dec. 14
Lighting the Candle of JOY
On the Third week of Advent, we light the candle of “Joy”.
How fitting that we read the story from Luke’s gospel of the Angels and Shepherds!
The angels proclaimed to the Shepherds, “I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”
Angels, came to shepherds! The proclamation is for all people! As the sky lit up with the heavenly hosts, you can see, the shepherds wonder on their faces. They couldn’t contain their excitement and decided to go see for themselves the Good News of Great Joy!
Today, we rejoice and sing of the goodness of God toward us all!
Can we contain ourselves?
Will we go tell everyone?
There’s the challenge! Who needs to hear this good news?
Of course, we all do! It is a message of hope, peace, and joy to good not to share with everyone!
